Dear travel friends,
Exciting adventures await in Kenya, and we want to ensure your journey is seamless. As of January 4th, 2024, Kenya has implemented its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system for all travellers (excluding citizens of Kenya and East African Community partner states) arriving in the country.
To facilitate your entry, here are the key requirements and details for applying for an ETA:
General Requirements for All Travelers
- Valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months validity from the arrival date and at least one blank page)
- Passport-style photo
- Contact information (home address, email, and phone number)
- Itinerary details
- Confirmation of accommodation booking
- Payment of $34 per person via credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay
Additional Requirements Based on Country of Residence/Travel History
- Yellow Fever certificate (if arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic country)
- Additional vaccinations as per guidelines
Applicants can apply for ETAs up to 3 months before they arrive in Kenya. Upon application, a confirmation will be sent to the provided email address. Once approved, the ETA will also be sent to this email.
The standard processing time for ETAs is three working days, and applicants can track the status using the reference number provided on the ETA website.
It’s important to note that the ETA replaces all previous visa entry requirements for Kenya. Ongoing e-visa applications will be processed, and travellers with existing e-visas can enter Kenya within the validity period of 90 days without needing an additional ETA.
For any queries or assistance regarding the ETA process, feel free to reach out to us. We’re here to help ensure your travel plans to Kenya are hassle-free and memorable.
Warm regards,
The Roho Voyage Team
